Great Things Are Happening

Greetings in the Name of our Lord,

Almost two years ago, I met with Chris Givens and Dean Cimini to discuss Men’s Ministry. Our prayer at the time was to develop a ministry to men where we could have fun, develop relationships, and grow spiritually. Much prayer has gone into developing a ministry that was more than just helping with all church meals or doing work projects around the church. These are important, but there can be so much more we can do to help men grow in their faith and develop supportive faith friendships and strong families.

Wednesday night, 65 men gathered to hear Don Smith share his testimony of recovery and faith. We were all moved by his message. The turnout was outstanding, and the spirit of support and friendship was felt by all. Our group was so large that we had to move from the Quad Room to Celebration Hall to facilitate those who attended.

This is just the beginning of reaching out to help men grow in their faith and find a place of support and sanctuary. Be on the lookout for future events as we plan to expand the opportunities to bring men together.

For me, as your pastor, this was another sign of what God is doing at Stonebridge United Methodist Church. God is moving and working to bring a spirit of vitality and faith that can change lives, families, and this community for Christ.

Now is the time for us to work together to see what God can do among us through the Spirit of Christ’s life-changing Gospel.
