Confirmation

Greetings in the Name of Jesus,

In our tradition, confirmation is a time of learning and growing in faith for our younger teens. It is a sacred act that signifies a deeper commitment to the Christian faith, empowering individuals to live out their beliefs and participate actively in the life of the Church.

At this Sunday's 9:45 a.m. service, we are receiving into faith in Christ and membership in the church the young people that have gone through our confirmation training. Pastor Jana does a great job with these teens, helping them understand what it means to make a commitment to Jesus. A few weeks ago, she shared with me that this is one of the best groups she has had the privilege to lead.

As pastor, it is one of the greatest honors of ministry to hear their profession of faith in Christ and lay hands on these young people and speak the words, “May the Holy Spirit work within you, that having been born through water and the Spirit, you may live as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.

Let’s do all we can to fill our worship areas to show our love to these young people. As they publicly make their commitment to Christ, it is our turn to recommit ourselves to the work of Christ in this world. It is a time of looking to the future in anticipation of what God will do through the young people.

I will be preaching on Philippians 4:11-13. "Not that I am referring to being in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

See you Sunday.
