At Sunshine Kids Preschool, we believe every child is precious and unique.

The mission of the Stonebridge United Methodist Church's Sunshine Kids Preschool is to provide a loving, God-centered, low stress, and nurturing environment, where the basic needs of all the children (love, acceptance, security and discipline) will be met. Our philosophy of academics will be one of exposure through Christian teaching and learning, acknowledging that children learn by different means and at different paces.

+ Programs

The program utilizes Christian-based, age appropriate curriculum in all classrooms, emphasizing the center approach and hands-on learning. Sunshine Kids Preschool will maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio based on the age of children in the room. The program will also provide:

  • Age appropriate and safe learning environment
  • Nurturing, Christian teachers
  • A balance between affective and cognitive learning
  • A combination of quiet play, individual and group activities
  • Weekday programs/classes include: Mothers's Day Out (18 mo. - 24 mo class); Early Preschool (2 year old classes); Preschool (3 year old classes); Pre-Kindergarten (4 year old classes); and Transitional Kindergarten

+ Curriculum

Our curriculum is teacher driven based on monthly or weekly themed units. Curriculum includes bible thoughts and verses, colors, shapes, numbers, phonics, writing, math, science, and art implemented through age appropriate activities. Sunshine Kids also implements the Frog Street Press curriculum in all classrooms. We offer extracurricular classes including a Music class and a Movement class for ages 2 through Transitional Kindergarten. We have a Center's Room for children 3 through Transitional Kindergarten where children can experience discovery centers and different activities outside their classroom setting. The 4 year old and Transitional Kindergarten classes also participate in Spanish classes once or twice a week. Chapel is attended once a week for ages 2 through Transitional Kindergarten. Our Outdoor Classroom is also available for all classes for a fun time of exploration.

Sunshine Kids Preschool is a non-profit, diverse and ecumenical program founded by Stonebridge United Methodist Church. All funds accruing to the program will be reinvested in the program and used for the benefit of Sunshine Kids Preschool.
