What Makes Stonebridge UMC Special

Greetings in the Name of our Lord!

Easter was glorious. The music was magnificent. Almost every seat was filled. The hallways were crowded. Easter was a glorious day filled with the resurrected spirit of Jesus!

When we ended the service in Celebration Hall with the Hallelujah Chorus, I could feel the presence of God. I wanted to shout, “I love this church. This is the most joyous place on earth!”

Thanks to the multitude of volunteers who helped make Easter special – greeters, coffee makers, donut munchers, decorators, children’s volunteers, ushers, and our host of musicians. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

As I was reflecting on our Easter services, I put together a list of what makes Stonebridge UMC so special.

  • We are a church that is growing, dynamic, forward-focused, and in touch with the community…

  • We are a church that focuses on the needs of all ages, with a variety of programs for all family members, especially programs for children and teens…

  • We are a church that preaches and teaches the Bible in a thoughtful and responsible manner, and seeks to apply its truth to our lives in a relevant way…

  • We are a church that is warm, inviting, accepting, and welcoming…

  • We are a church that is a blend of the traditional and the contemporary…

  • We are a church of servants, always willing to step up and do whatever it takes to make ministries possible…

  • We are a church that is concerned about the challenges people face today…

  • We are a church in which people are encouraged to think for themselves, and share their thoughts and feelings…

  • We are a church that is open to everyone, accepting people as they are, without judgement…

  • We are a church that wants to meet the needs of all who walk through our doors…

  • We are a church that offers grace in a divided world…

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday. I will be preaching on the Great Commandment of Jesus as we look at the ways to live the Easter resurrection every day.

Invite someone to worship.
